Letter from the Chapter

Dear Potential New Member,

We are so excited that you are considering going through recruitment. We highly encourage anyone with even the slightest interest in becoming a sorority woman to go through the recruitment process. You can always change your mind, but we're pretty sure you won't once you meet all of the amazing women of the Truman Panhellenic Council!

For many women, sororities become an integral part of their college years, and we are so excited to have the opportunity through recruitment to share our sisterhood with you and to hopefully help you find your place. Watch for recruitment brochures and other information in the mail, and make sure to stop by our tables in Missouri Hall, Ryle Hall, and the Student Union Building.

In Sigma Kappa, we pride ourselves on a number of great achievements. We have had the highest cumulative GPA in the Truman Panhellenic Council for the past nine straight semesters, our members hold leadership positions in many organizations on campus, our members belong to many different honors societies, and we have a very strong sisterhood. We are a very diverse group of girls that share one very important bond, but we have so many girls with different majors, interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that it is almost impossible not to find someone in Sigma Kappa who loves the same things that you do.

One very important program to all Sigma Kappas, nation wide, is our RESPΣΚT Movement. The RESPΣΚT Movement is Sigma Kappa's anti-hazing initiative, and we very strongly believe in it. Sigma Kappa Sorority considers hazing to be a most destructive and degrading activity which is inconsistent with our ideals and standards.  The dignity of every individual is recognized, and as such all forms of hazing are opposed. Truman State also has a zero tolerance policy on hazing and no forms whatsoever are allowed.

We hope that your experience in going through recruitment is a positive one and that you find an amazing group of women to call your sisters! Dove love!

Sincerely,

The Women of Sigma Kappa-Delta Theta Chapter
